40 Day Fast

Our church congregation has been doing a 40 day fast. Tomorrow it will be our family's turn to fast. Tonight we enjoyed a nice dinner and spiritual message from the Sister missionaries.

They gave us a challenge: 

 

Over the next two weeks...

 

1. Specifically pray to bring someone  closer to the Savior and His gospel everyday.

2. Pray for the missionaries serving in your area and their investigators by name every day.

3. Invite a friend to an activity in or out of your home.

 

Pray

Pray to be aware of opportunities throughout each day you will be led to those being prepared to receive the gospel.

 

Read 

"Seek not to declare my word but seek first to obtain my word and then shall your tongue be loosed then if ye desire ye shall have my spirit and my word yea the power of God unto the convincing of men." (D&C 11:21)

 

As you treasure up the words of scriptures and the latter-day prophets by study and faith your deire to share the gospel will increase. You are promised that the spirit will help you know what to say when you teach. 

Fast

"Nevertheless the children of God were commanded that they should gather themselves together oft and join in fasting and mighty prayer in behalf of the welfare of the souls of those who knew not God." (Alma 6:6)

We've set some goals as a family and I know the Lord will guide us in our efforts to share what we know to be true.

We are excited for this opportunity to come closer to Christ, not only as individuals, but as a family.
