Boot Camp was a challenging time for us to be apart, but we were blessed to be able to stay connected through hand written letters and phone calls. I found our old letters today and read through some of them. It was a beautiful experience to relive those newlywed days of sacrifice and love. I couldn't help, but cry and thank God for the blessing my husband is to me. Weaknesses and all, he really is a treasure in my life!
"The Wednesday Letters is the story of Jack and Laurel. Married 39 years, the Coopers lived a good life and appear to have had a near-perfect relationship. Then one night, with his wife cradled in his arms, and before Jack takes his last breath, he scribbles his final "Wednesday Letter."
When their three adult children arrive to arrange the funeral, they discover boxes and boxes full of love letters that their father wrote to their mother on every single Wednesday. As they begin to open and read the letters, the children uncover unimaginable adventures and the shocking truth about their past.
This book did inspire me to write my own Wednesday's Letters. In fact right after reading it, I created a private blog, where I began writing letters to my husband every Wednesday. The best part...he wrote me back! We kept it going for about 3 months and during that time our love and appreciation for each other increased and we had a blast staying connected in a different way while our kids were little. The Wednesday Letters has a powerful message about redemption and forgiveness. And it just might inspire you to begin writing your own Wednesday Letters."
