My oldest son joined Cub Scouts at the age of 8.
He was proud to be a Cub Scout and worked hard learning new skills and earning ranks and patches.
Cub Scout Leg Wrestling
Blue and Gold Banquet Chargers Cake
First Place Pine Wood Derby
Bear Scout
At age 10, he became a Weblos Scout; it's the last rank before becoming an official Boy
Scout.
This was an exciting year for him!
His Weblos Den Leader, Sharon Nilson, dedicated her time to making sure my son and the other boys in her den were well prepared to become Boy Scouts.
She is an amazing woman, who has served in the Scouting program for many years.
She has been fighting cancer for a long time and is now in her final stages of life. To honor her service to Scouting, all of the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts who knew her went to her hospital room last night to say "Thank You" and "Goodbye."
Everyone filled the space in her tiny room and took part in lifting her spirits with jokes, stories, and songs. It was a tender experience we will never forget. The Spirit in the room was so strong as these boys and young men sang her favorite songs, "Scripture Power," The Star Spangled Banner," and "We'll Bring The World His Truth."
