Gratitude Day 13: Converse Love {Part 1}

"Love and faithfulness meet together; righteousness and peace kiss each other."--Psalms 85:10

Can I just say my church absolutely ROCKS! I love how we believe that marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God and that families can be together forever.

This evening we attended a Marriage Retreat, put on by our church. The theme, "It's Better Together." An older couple volunteered to host this retreat at their beautiful home nestled in the woods. As we walked hand and hand up the driveway to their home, we both just breathed a sigh of relief; a sign that it was okay to just let go of the week behind us and the week that lay ahead and focus on each other.

At the top of the driveway, was a check-in table. Dave and I received a workbook full of marriage quotes, scriptures, quizzes, questions about our courtship, relationship, spiritual, and physical intimacy, conflict resolution styles, relationship building prompts, stories, and creative date ideas. We were told to find a table for two and use the workbook as our dinner conversation.

We found a table under a giant oak tree with a breathtaking view of the mountains and home. We enjoyed dinner and an enriching conversation. For the first time in weeks, we gave each other our undivided attention, rekindling romance and communication that had been lost due to our busy schedules.

It was a night to remember and build upon.
